World Finance Sustainability Award

World Finance Magazine, a print and online magazine providing comprehensive coverage and analysis of the financial industry, international business, and the global economy, annually honors companies across a dozen categories ranging from Insurance and Banking to Corporate Governance. In 2019 as the issue of climate change rose to the top of the global agenda and businesses across the globe began to take real action to tackle climate change, World Finance introduced its inaugural Sustainability Awards, to honor companies that show a commitment to environmentalism and sustainability and are making the business world a much greener place. Casella is the first vertically integrated solid waste, recycling, and resource management services company to earn the award in the Waste Management Category.

Best Investor Relations Award

IR Magazine, a publication renowned for providing quality insight and a global perspective, presented Casella Chairman and CEO John W. Casella and CFO Ned Coletta its award for the Best Investor Relations by a Senior Management team in the small to mid-cap category at its annual awards ceremony. Held virtually for the first time ever due to COVID-19 restrictions, the awards honor excellence in the investor relations profession across the Americas and is an awards-by-research program where nominees are determined by the input of hundreds of analysts and portfolio managers, who give their opinions on which companies provide them with the best IR service in the US.

Spirit of Goodwill Award

Goodwill honored Casella Waste Systems, Inc. with its Spirit of Goodwill Award last week for its innovative work that prioritizes the sustainability of the earth and the stability of people. For the last seven years, Goodwill Northern New England and Casella have shared knowledge and resources in an ever-changing world of resource management and job creation. The award recognizes the efforts the company has made in making Vermont more sustainable.

Partnerships for Innovation Award

Casella and its customer and collaborator Hypertherm of Lebanon, N.H. have been recognized for their work and innovation around industrial recycling and waste reduction by the New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility (NHBSR).

NHBSR and New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan presented Casella and Hypertherm with the inaugural “Partnerships for Innovation” award at NHBSR’s Spring Conference in Concord, N.H. on May 11.

Climate Leadership Award

Casella has been recognized by the EPA, the Association of Climate Change Officers, the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions, and The Climate Registry with a Climate Leadership Award for Excellence in greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) Management.

Between 2005 and 2012, we reduced our greenhouse gas emissions by 51%. In 2012 we recovered over 890,000 tons of recyclables and organics and generated enough electricity for 30,000 homes.

Cornell University Supplier Recognition Award

Casella earned top honors for the second year in a row at Cornell University's 2nd Annual Supplier Recognition Awards. The award recognizes suppliers who have performed best throughout the year in product and service quality, pricing, order fulfillment, customer satisfaction and social responsibility.

Natural Gas Vehicles for America Achievement Award

Casella received the prestigious NGV Achievement Award from the Clean Vehicle Education Foundation and Natural Gas Vehicles for America. This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the advancement of natural gas as a vehicular fuel. Currently, 30 of our trucks run solely on CNG gas, which has displaced 400,000 gallons of diesel fuel in our fleet. Vermont Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence

Casella along with Foley Distributing and SCA, have advanced their leadership in providing consumers with resource sustainability services by teaming up and winning the Vermont Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence. The award was received in recognition of their collaborative service called the the Power of Three™, an innovative solution for businesses dedicated to participating in genuine closed loop recycling. The Power of Three is a three-step process of picking up a customer's recyclables, processing them into new materials, and then providing renewed products back to the customer in the form of new hand towels, tissue paper, and toiletry items.
